How it works
Easy steps to get you started with your SCOPE Number and Professional Designation
- Once you are logged in you will be asked to complete two sets of questions. The first questions relate to your research, your teaching experience, educational qualifications and other items such as any written works you may have published or related memberships you have. Some questions you answer have a ‘follow-up’ where you provide further information to support your primary answer. At the end of these questions, you will immediately see your level as calculated by the algorithm.
- But beyond that, we believe there is a vital step to be added to your level which so far has not received enough recognition, namely Volunteer or Community Services performed. You will be invited to answer IF questions (Impact Factor) relating to community work. We recognize your involvement in activities that benefit the community at large by awarding Impact Factor levels. The more community work, etc., you have done, the higher your Impact Factor.
- You will immediately see your IF (Impact Factor) level – There are 4 levels that indicate undertaken community or other volunteer works. Thus, upon completion of the assessment you will have two Standings: – first your Professional Standing, and secondly, your Impact Factor Standing.
- You then have three options: – (1) apply for a hard copy of your TESOL card (production fee and delivery fees apply), (2) you may keep your PTD (Professional TESOL Standing) stored online or (3) leave the site and delete your application. You may re-apply in the future.
- Your information will be secured by QR codes and other devices preventing all but you from accessing that information. But remember, play safe, do not input information that is not already in the public domain.

- There are no fees to apply online and receive your Professional Designation. You may print out your own card.
- You may have your ID card produced in professional Hard Copy by us and delivered by international courier. Your QR code is unique to you and can only be accessed by scanning your QR code. Card production fee and courier fees apply.
Do not input any information that is not already in the public domain. We have incorporated numerous features to secure your data. You can obtain your Professional ID (free print out or purchased hard copy) card and then delete your account if you have privacy concerns about the internet’s ability to protect data.
