Biography

Alex Tong is Vice President-business development and investor relations of ATA Inc. (America Online Inc). AOL (ATA) is the founder and leader of China’s intelligent test and evaluation service; one of the professional computer-based intelligent test and evaluation service providers; the global leader in operational test and evaluation technology.

Prior to joining the company in September 2005, Mr. Tong worked as a General Manager for the Asia Pacific region at the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Tong worked for Thomson Prometric (https://www.prometric.com/) in the position of Executive Director from 1999 to 2003 and as the Managing Director at Pearson NCS Hong Kong Ltd. from 1997 to 1999.

Alex Tong graduated from the University of Nottingham, UK, with a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree of philosophy in education and from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with an executive MBA.

ATA is part of a Group that has the Study Abroad Learning business listed in NASDAQ, while another part of the Education Assessment in China where I am the Vice President of for 18 years now.

ATP full name is Association for Test Publishers which is a trade association that is non-profit and to maintain the well-being of the profession via publishing guidelines, while paper, advices to government, legislators and general public, I have been involved since 2005 and was the global Chairman in 2018 and still sit on the Board today. ATA is a corporate member of ATP since 2002 and I have been the key person for the volunteer work.

On behalf of ATA, I have recently supported the setup of ATP Online Learning Academy (in which the learning contents are created by Cambridge Assessment, a part of Cambridge University in England)
